Message Hey Guys,

I am having problems with my newly TT swapped NA.

I can't get my car to idle right. At idle it will bonce between 800-1000 rpms, both banks are running extremely rich (10:1 to 12:1) which is causing the o2 sensors to be pegged full rich. The ecu tries to bring the afr's down, but the car starts misfiring and the passenger side bank will go lean while the drivers side stays rich. This confuses the ecu and it adds more fuel causing the car to run full rich again (I can watch the narrow band o2 output and it is in sync with the idle bonce). If I turn on the AC and open the ficd the car will idle ok at a higher rpm (like 1100), but it will still be running extremely rich. I have a wideband installed on the driver side bank and while driving the the AFRs seem ok (cruising (14:1-15:1), under throttle (12:1), and light boost (10:1 to 11:1).

O2 voltage stays at .82-.83 at idle, and around zero while lean. I think the MAF voltage was somewhere around .9 volts. Throttle position is .44 volts. Timing is 15 BTC (checked with timing light).

I preformed a boost leak check and did not find anything major. Compression check on all cylinders was around 145 PSI.

Also sometimes the car will develop a random misfire (only seems to happen at idle or lower rpms and its not constant). Cylinders number 1 and 4 seem to be the main problems (or at least that is what a power balance test has told me). Under throttle I can't really feel or hear a misfire.

The car has a custom split dual intake with low speed drive ability mod (modeled after the one Z1 sells). Basically 5/8 hose runs from the passenger side IC pipe and Tees into the feed for the iacv. I have played with adding restrictors inside of the hoses but all I can make the car do is either make both sides rich, one rich and one lean, or both completely lean.

I checked the coil packs on the misfiring cylinders and they were fine (even traded them for ones from cylinders that were working). Also the plugs are new and gap to .034.

I checked injector plugs and ohm checked problem cylinders. They seem fine (11.8 ohms and new connectors). I also manually jumped the injectors to make sure they were clicking (both seemed fine).

I also tried adding a adjustable FPR because I am running a high flow 340lph fuel pump. I adjusted it to 42 psi at idle (vac disconnected), with vac is sit around 34 psi. It did help smooth the idle out a little bit but I still have the same problems.

The car at idle has a bit (like a really small amount) of white smoke coming from the exhaust, I think its either water moisture or smoke from running rich (can't be coolant because it does not smell sweet, burns the eyes and smells like unburnt gas). It goes away under throttle and I have not seen it while driving.

The motor has been completely rebuilt
New oxygen sensors (bosch)
550cc Injectors Phase I Oval plug JECS (grey top)
New wiring harness
New Plugs
Ecu has a Z1 chip for dual intake and 550cc injector size
